Beret Love

Well it's finally the weekend (phew!) and after a very wet and windy week we have been keeping our spirits up by falling in love with this gorgeous vintage Beret!

This cute caramel coloured Beret is a must have for your winter wardrobe! It's an accessory that's easy to wear with pretty much any outfit and just finishes off your look adding a vintage-chic vibe. I've styled it with a classic 80's bat-wing jumper which has a cute side collar and button detail (one of my favourites) and a pair of flared jeans. It would look great worn with a classic vintage Mac nipped in at the waist with a belt and a tan satchel bag to finish off the look! It's available now in our 'Vintage Box' at just £9.99! Yay!

Here's a sneak peek at some of the new vintage treasures that will be heading their way into our Vintage Box very soon!

We have been busying away taking lots of photos of our 'new to you' vintage stock including these super cute brooches! Theres lots more on the way too so keep posted! Gosh I love Vintage!

Don't forget our first vintage adventure of 2014 is happening next week @ The Razzle Dazzle Traveling Vintage Fair held at Cedar Farm Galleries on Sunday 9th Feb! We will be having lots of items on sale so pop down, grab a bargain and a delicious coffee in their funky café! Perfect! 10am - 4pm £1 Admission

While we are going all french with our Love of the Beret I've picked a vintage french song from 1948 called 'Amours Banales' by Renee Lamy for something different! Enjoy! Au revoir vintage lovers!

Vintage Secret Garden

We have a fabulous outfit post for you today with one of my favorite dresses from the boutique and a very versatile waistcoat! I wanted to try out some new photo ideas too, so this is what I got up to last weekend:

A Vintage Secret Garden

We were quite luckily with the weather on Sunday as it had been dark and grey all morning! But it brightened up allowing us to get some shots of this earthy Boho vintage look. This 70's boho dress is one of my favorites, it's so effortless, retro and earthy and really easy to style up for day or evening wear! I've added a cute dark green waistcoat for an extra layer and different texture to the look, teamed with my moss-green lace up boots, loose belt, brown vintage bag and vintage pendant plus a few flashes of pale green with the bracelet and scarf I think it's a winter winner! If any of these beauty's catch your eye: Vintage Dress: size:12-14 £14.99, Vintage Bag: £9.99, Green Vintage Waistcoat: size:12-14 £8.99 they are available in our 'Vintage Box' too!

We have also been sprucing up our 'pop up' boutique displays ready for our first vintage fair of the year in Feb at Cedar Farm Galleries! Keep posted for updates!

Whilst we are in the Boho vibe i'll treat you to a song from the British band 'Ten Years After'. With its echoing vocals and beautiful riffs, released in 1971 and from the album 'A Space in Time' it has to be'I'd Love To Change The World'! Lean back, close your eyes and let the music take you.....

A New Year....A Vintage Year!

Well......another year gone by and a new one just beginning! Our first year as Retro Queen Boutique has just flown by! Hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and new year! Roll on 2014, to new vintage adventures, and just all round vintage goodness!

To round off 2013 and start 2014 here's a few photos of our last fair in Dec held in Preston!

Our last fair of 2013 was held at Christ Church in Fulwood and run by the fabulous Dolly Dazzler Presents! The atmosphere was great as every one was buzzing for Christmas, there was vintage galore and amazing handmade treasures not to mention the top-notch grub rustled up by Mrs Dolly Dazzler herself! I got to wear one of my favourite (new to me) dresses I got a few weeks earlier and felt floral and lovely in it all day! heh heh! Mrs DD braved the cold weather to entice more customers in with her super cool sign and leopard print coat! It was a great fair and an even greater way to end the year! Starting off 2014 I have had my first hair chop of the year and decided on a few cheeky streaks too! I love it and have already planned for more! Yay!

Our first vintage adventure of the year will be at The Razzle Dazzle Travelling Vintage Fair at Cedar Farm Galleries on Feb 9th! With lots of sale items, new stock and some retro treats in store for you! There are 2 fab café's up there too, cake stalls and oodles of vintage treasures! Spot on!

I recently went jive/Lindy Hop dancing, which is something I've wanted to give a go for ages and finally got round to trying!  And I absolutely loved it! It was so much fun I can't even express! I'll be doing a blog post all about it in the coming weeks including photos so keep posted! If you can't wait and want to try it out your self check out www.jazzswingdance.co.uk! On that jiving note our song of the week and setting us up for the new year is 'Happy by Pharrell Williams!' I hope I feel like this song all year round! Enjoy!
